Description
In a glorious position on the edge of the Wye Valley and in the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, these attractive properties lie within the grounds of the popular Puzzlewood attraction, which is often used as a TV and film location. Guests have free access all year, to Puzzlewood and its facilities which include a williow maze, a large trim trail play area and an indoor maze. Puzzlewood is located on a working farm and guests are encouraged to join in at feeding times. Onsite there are highland cattle, donkeys, Shetland ponies, pygmy goats, a pig, rabbits, ducks and chickens. The three cottages have been carefully renovated and have their own garden areas as well as shared use of the wider grounds and ancient woodland. The site is half a mile from Coleford with pubs, eateries, cinema and supermarket, close to Offas Dyke as well as Clearwell Caves, Tintern Abbey, Symonds Yat RSPB. Walking, riding, rope climbing, canoeing and many more outdoor activities are under 5 miles, along with steam and miniature railways, a butterfly zoo and many other attractions. Historic Monmouth and the ancient Royal Forest are all at hand and surrounding cities include Gloucester, Bristol and Cardiff. Elegant Cheltenham and the Brecon Beacons are approx 1 hour drive.

Reviews
A beautiful located cottage next tot Puzzlewood, which is a very breath taking place to walk in and very nice for the children with al the farm-animals. A very nice and helpfull owner next door, but still more than enough privacy. There is so much to do around the place if you like hiking, mining-history and castles and a beautiful nature. We had a lovely time here.

Charming cottage, very comfortable bed, good shower. Beautiful location, a lot to do in the area, Puzzlewood is a top day out for families.

The city of Gloucester, for example, is where William the Conqueror ordered the creation of the Domesday Book and the magnificent cathedral here has many connections with the Norman kings of England. With our Gloucestershire cottage holidays, you’re just a short drive away. Make sure Berkeley Castle is also on your itinerary. This 12th century castle has been owned by the Berkeley family since its foundation and is now a fine stately home, packed with art treasures, tapestries, silver, porcelain and furniture.
Then there’s elegant, genteel Cheltenham, with its grand terraces, much frequented by the lords and ladies of Georgian times and now home to some very smart shops. Or step back in time to Tewkesbury, where timbered buildings sit crowded on the banks of the rivers Avon and Severn. And don’t miss bohemian Stroud, where you’ll find a great selection of cafés and pubs.
